TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 4, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College's Juliunn Redmond was named NJCAA Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Redmond, a sophomore guard from Chicago, Ill., averaged 21.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 3.3 steals and 1.0 block in three games during the voting period.
She led the Eagles to wins over Andrew (Ga.) College, Eastern Florida State College and Indian River State College, the last two coming at the annual Florida College's Women's Basketball Shootout.
In those three games, Redmond shot 56.0 percent (28-of-50) from the floor and 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the free throw line.
In Tallahassee's 103-75 win over Eastern Florida State, Redmond recorded her first career double-double with career-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds. She also had seven assists and four steals in the win.
The next day against Indian River State, she posted another all-around effort with 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals.
