#TCCBasketball Championship Celebration set for August 8

TCC women's basketball national champions

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 21, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College will hold a celebration for its 2018 National Champion women's basketball team on Wednesday, August 8.

The event, hosted by the TCC Eagle Boosters, the TCC Foundation's President's Circle, and the TCC Alumni & Friends Association will be held inside the Bill Hebrock Eagledome.

Festivities will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. The program will tip off at 6 p.m. and include the unveiling of the Eagles' championship banner and official championship team photo. The highlight of the evening, however, will be the presentation of the team's 2018 national championship rings.

Tallahassee won its first women's basketball national championship on March 24, defeating eight-time champion Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College, 69-51, in Lubbock, Texas, the last of five consecutive wins in as many days at the NJCAA Tournament.

Fans attending the celebration will also have the opportunity to purchase the Eagles' National Championship Memorabilia Package – a limited edition championship t-shirt, commemorative basketball signed by head coach Franqua "Q" Bedell and championship poster signed by the players and coaches.

The package costs $150 and all proceeds will benefit the women's basketball program.

The celebration is open to the public.
