Michael Caswell is a first-year member on the Eagles' staff, serving as a volunteer student assistant while completing a degree in sociology at Florida State University.
A native of State College, Pa., Caswell played two years (2015-17) of basketball at Messiah College, an NCAA Division III school in Mechanicsburg, Pa., before suffering a career-ending back injury. Though his playing career was done, Caswell remained at Messiah in 2017-18 and joined head coach Rick Van Pelt's staff as a student assistant where he was responsible for scouting out-of-conference opponents, creating scouting report videos, videoing practice and leading off-season workouts.
Caswell has also accrued coaching experience on the AAU circuit with Maryland Movement, an Adidas Silver Gauntlet program based in Frederick, Md. After serving one season as an assistant with the 15U team, he was promoted to head coach of the 16U squad - the youngest head coach on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit.
Caswell has extensive camp experience, working on-campus camps at Baylor, Penn State, Maryland, Messiah, Montclair State, Dickinson College and Paul VI High School. He has also served on staff with Hoop Group Skills Camps, Hoop Group Elite Camps and Wootten Camps.
