The Eagles are now 6-0 on the season heading into Saturday's 3 p.m. showdown with South Georgia Technical College.

Richard Washington scored 18 points to lead five players in double-figures for Tallahassee. Eric Boone and Deven Palmer had 17 points each. Mustafa Lawrence added 14 and Jalen Dalcourt, 12.

The Eagles led wire-to-wire thanks to a red-hot shooting effort. Tallahassee hit 18-of-32 (56.3 percent) field goal attempts in the first half en route to a 45-28 lead.

The second half was even better – a 21-of-35 (60.0 percent) effort. Tallahassee eventually led by as many as 33 points (89-56) and finished the game 39-of-67 (58.2 percent) from the floor.

Tallahassee won its first game as a member of the NJCAA, a 116-84 win over Bishop (Ala.) State Community College on November 7, 1991. Since then, the Eagles have averaged 22 wins for 27+ seasons, won three FCSAA State/NJCAA District Championships and advanced to the 2006 NJCAA Championship Game.

Mike Gillespie went 258-56 in ten seasons (1991-2001) as head coach before taking the helm at Florida A&M University. He was succeeded by Eddie Barnes, who posted a record of 274-144 over the next 14 seasons (2001-15), before retiring in 2015.
